CURTIS H. WILLIAMSON
Curtis H. Williamson died at his home here in Elkader last Thursday, Feb. 2, of heart ailment. While Mr. Williamson had not been in the best of health for several years, he had been confined to his bed only several weeks.
Mr. Williamson was born Aug. 26, 1868, on a farm in Boardman township, and so at the time of his death had reached the age of 70 years, five months and six days.
The deceased spent the entire span of his life either on the farm in this township or here in Elkader, where in later years he was associated with John Stoops in the contracting business. March 28, 1923, he was united in marriage with Mina Heckmaster, who survives him.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Williamson. His father and mother preceded him in death, but he is survived by his step-mother, who resides in McGregor. Three sisters and two brothers also survive. They are: Mrs. F. A. Cook, Elkader; Mrs. A. A. Arnold, Spokane; Mrs. Ruth Congdon, McGregor; H. G. Williamson, Winthrop, Minn., and Miles Williamson, McGregor.
The deceased received his early education in the rural schools of this county and then attended the local public school. He finished his education in a Des Moines business college, after which he followed the business of bridge contractor. He also served his county, first as an assistant in the auditor’s office, and later as assistant in the county treasurer’s office.
Funeral services were held last Sunday, with burial in the East Side cemetery, the Rev. N. O. Bartholomew officiating. Casket bearers were: LeRoy Mickelson, Fred Nydager, Claud Miles, Robt. Hulverson, Joe Larson and Art Hulverson.

Elkader, Ia. - Funeral services for Curt Williamson, 72, who died at his home here following a short illness, were conducted by the Rev. Noyes O. Bartholmew, pastor of the Congregational Church, and burial was in the East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Williamson spent most of his life in this community and for years was engaged in the contracting business. He built a number of bridges and culverts in Clayton County. He also operated a cement block plant here.
Several years ago he suffered a brief illness which kept him from active work.
He is survived by his widow.
