Garnavillo- Funeral services for Theodore L. Meyer, 65, were held here Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul's Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Meyer died suddenly at his home here Monday night following a collapse at the dinner table. He suffered from heart disease for several years.
He was born Nov. 20, 1875 on a farm near here, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meyer, pioneer Clayton County residents. He was educated in the schools of Garnavillo township and on May 5, 1909 was married to Eliza Meyer. They operated the Meyer homestead until they retired and moved to town here some years ago.
Mr. Meyer was a member of the local Masonic lodge. He served as a member of the local Board of Education for several years.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Myrene Larson of Garnavillo; one son, Gerald, also of Garnavillo; three brothers, Helmuth of Castalia, Henry of Monona, and William of Rockwell; five sisters, Mrs. Carrie Meyer, Mrs. Adelia Foran, Mrs. Elizabeth Tangeman, and Amelia, all of Bradworth, Saketchewan, Canada, and Mrs. Mamie Drahn of Monona.
