Monona- Funeral services for J. P. Lenth, 80, were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church here Thursday afternoon. The Rev. H. W. Siefkes, pastor, officiated and burial was in the City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were eight grandchildren: Harvey, Harold, and Lloyd Lenth, Marvin Jarms, Harlan Miller, and Wilbert, Duane, and Harold Lenth.
The honorary pallbearers were: J. T. Humphrey, C. A. Riveland, Gus Pufahl, Harry Schrader, W. J. Splies, Wm. Miller, Chas. Johanningmeier, Louis Englehardt, Ed Roth, Henry Drahn, Chris Kohler, Henry Rosenberg, Fred Wiedemann, Ed Ryan, Henry Kruger, and Ed. Allert.
Mr. Lenth, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lenth was born in Clayton County on Nov. 11, 1860. He was married to Dorothea Harnack, who died some years ago. Mr. Lenth made his home in this vicinity all his life.
Survivors include 11 children: Ernie, Mrs. Ben Jarmes, John, Wilbert, and Mrs. Hilda Miller, all of Monona; Gus, Mrs. Vern Haberichter, Elmer, and Herbert, all of Farmersburg; and Mrs. Arthur Palas and Louis, both of Luana; two brothers, Frank of Monona and Herman of Elkader; 22 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
