JOHN MICHAEL WILEY
Funeral services were held for John Michael Wiley, 76, Thursday, July 19, 1990, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Edgewood. Rev. John Friederick officiated the service with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Littleport. Pallbearers were Verdeen Tschirgi, Dave Kirby, Jim Clinton, Jerry Schlawin, Daryl Dahling and Fred Schaffer.
John Michael Wiley was born January 9, 1914, near Littleport, the son of John J. and Anna (Stence) Wiley. He grew up and was educated in in the area, graduating from the Littleport school. On October 27, 1941, he was united in marriage to Doris Glennon at Volga. Two children were born to this union. Together they farmed in the Littleport area all their lives. He was a long time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littleport and presently a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood. After a long illness John Wiley died Tuesday afternoon, July 17, 1990, at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Manchester.
Survivors include his wife Doris; a daughter Roseanne Wiley of Cedar Rapids; a son John G. of Littleport; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Glennon; and by his parents.

We also extend our deepest thanks to all for masses, memorials, flowers, food, prayers and visits at the time of his death. Heartfelt appreciation also goes to the people of St. Mark’s who prepared the dinner and to those who sang at the funeral. Your kindness will always remain part of us.
