Farmersburg- Funeral services for Reuben Bills, 76, were held at the Methodist church Thursday, the Rev. Alwell officiating.
He served as an instructor and leader of various town bands in Iowa, and for nearly 25 years served as leader of the Farmersburg Band, during which time he made his home at the Haltmeyer Hotel. He was instructor in music at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, for some years.
His wife, Elida (or Ellda) Belle (Bark) Bills, preceded him in death in 1936. He is survived by six children, Miss Freda Bills, Long Beach, Calif., Claude Bills, Newton, Ia., Mrs. Verl L. Rowland, Fayette, Ia., Mrs. Edwin Kates, Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. F. J. Livingston, Waterloo, Ia., and Sgt. Charles I. Bills, with the armed forces in England. There are six grandchildren.
He was a member of Sunnyside Masonic Lodge 510, Maynard, Ia., Masons of Farmersburg attended the service in a body.
