On Tuesday, Feb. 6th, Rev. Kumpf baptized the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kruse, giving him the name Virgil Henry William. The sponsors were the grandfathers, Will Kruse and Henry Genz. On Saturday, Feb. 10, the little infant passed away, and on Sunday afternoon was buried in the Lutheran cemetery.

Notes: The Feb 7th Postville Herald had his birth announcement (b. 1/27/1923), also in the Luana column. His parents LeRoy & Eda (Genz) Kruse are also buried in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Luana. The 'Woodmansee' publication of Allamakee co. cemeteries lists Virgil as being buried in the Postville cemetery, Area F. This is not correct.
