Conduct Rites for Harlan H. Brandt
Services were held January 16 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Postville, for Harlan H. Brandt who died January 13 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. The Rev. Norris C. Swenson officiated.
Born July 18, 1906 on a farm in Clayton County, Harlan Henry was the son of Fred H. and Wilhelmina Meyer Brandt. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church where he remained a lifetime member.
Most of his life was spent on the family farm south of Postville. The past three years he had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant brother and sister, and a brother, Roland.
Survivors include a brother Ewald of Postville and three sisters, Mrs. Leora Plaht, Postville; Mrs. Earl W. (Clara) Haefner of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Mrs. Irvin (Delia) Meyer of McGregor.
Interment was in the Postville cemetery.

Harlan would have been a great-uncle of mine. He was a WWII veteran although the obituary doesn't mention it.Taken from the Postville Herald, Wednesday, Jan 19, 1977.
