Winterlin, John A. 1883-1908

John A. Winterlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Winterlin, was born at Elkport, Iowa, September 20, 1883, and died March 14, 1908, at the age of 24 years and six months.

He received his school education at Elkader where his parents resided. About seven years ago they came to this city which has been his home ever since. He was taken sick at the home of his parents some time ago where everything was done to restore the young man's health but the angel of death had laid hold of him and everything that loving hands could do was done of no avail. Saturday evening he quietly fell asleep and passed to yonder shores.

He leaves to mourn his loss six brothers, two sisters and a father and mother. Services were held at the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Francis officiating. He was laid to rest in Oakland cemetery*. - McGregor News
