Mrs. Louis Venus, whose death you noted last week, was born at Cincinnati, Ohio, February 21st, 1852, and consequently was 37 years, 9 months and 15 days of age at the time of her death.
She came to Iowa with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Luers*, of Elkader, when quite young, and lived with them at Communia until 1880, when she was married to Mr. Venus, and shortly afterwards came to Clayton.
A heart broken husband and two children are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.
Mrs. Venus was a very estimable lady, greatly respected by all, and her death is universally mourned as a great loss to Clayton. The funeral took place on Friday and was very largely attended.
