Wirkler, William 'Willie' 1885-1889

Died on Monday, April 1, 1889, at the tender age of 3 years 10 months, Willie, son of Jos. Wirkler.

Thus has that dread disease diphtheria again claimed a victim, and this time it has taken the idol of the family. Little Willie was the pet of the household and the joy of his parents. Although the best medical skill was employed and all that loving parents and sympathizing neighbors could do, was cheerfully done, still the fell destroyer had marked him for the tomb, and death finally ended his sufferings.

Our profound sympathies are with the stricken parents, whose bright circle of promising children is thus ruthlessly broken. The body of little Willie was buried quietly in the Garnavillo cemetery on Tuesday morning.
