Mrs. Margaret Tujetsch, widow of the late Christian Tujetsch, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Stroschein of West Haven, Friday, Aug. 7, at 11:30 p.m. Funeral services were held Monday in St. Michel's church in Garber with burial in St. Michael's cemetery, the Rev. William Goetzinger officiating in church and at the grave.

Mrs. Tujetsch was born at New Orleans, La., the daughter of Frederick and Sabilla (Summers) Seidel, Jan. 12, 1850, and had reached the age of 86 years, 6 months and 25 days at the time of her death.

She came to Guttenberg with her parents in 1850. On May 22, 1871, she was united in marriage with Christian Tujetsch of Elkader. To this union 12 children were born, three of whom, John, Theresa and Christian, died in early childhood. Those living are Fred, Union City, Pa., George of Ocana, Calif., Joe of Elkader, Mrs. J.J. Meyer of Garnavillo, Mrs. Joe Dozier* of Elgin, Neb., Mrs. P.J. Leibel of Burke, S.D.; Mrs. Wm. Stroschein, West haven; Mrs. Henry Stroschein of Garnavillo and Mary of Elkader.

After the death of her husband in 1926 the deceased made her home with Mrs. Henry Stroschein until Feb. 1, 1930, when she became seriously ill and was taken to the home of Mrs. Wm. Stroschein, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Although she was confined to a wheel chair for 3 years and spent the last three years in bed, she never complained about her lot in life, but took everyting as, "It is God's will." She was a faithful member of St. Michael's parish of Garber.

Besides her children the deceased is survived by 34 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Seidel of Guttenberg.

Among the out of town relatives and friends who attended the last rites of Mrs. Tujetsch were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dozier* and George Dozier* of Elgin, Neb.; Mrs. Frank Selting of Raeville, Neb.; Mrs. Peter Liebel of Burke, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Seidel, Mrs. Anton Wille and daughter Theresa, Mr. and Mrs. John Egelseder, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Wolter and family, Mrs. Joe Schlueter, all of Guttenberg; Mr. and Mrs. Leander Stroschein, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Waltz and daughter Loretta, Mr. and Mrs. George Heck, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stoschein and family, Mrs. J.J. Meyer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Doede and daughter Dolores and Mrs. Henry Schmeizer, al of Garnavillo; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seidel and family of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. John Schneider and son Donald, Miss Minnie Tujetsch, Mr. and Mrs. John Hook, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bauer, Mrs. Leslie Oelke, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Walz, Mrs. William Hand and daughters Phyllis and Ethel, Miss Verna O'Connor and Miss Mary Tujetsch, all of Elkader; and Miss Veronica Winkler of Lansing.

Sic grandchildren acted as pall bearers, namely, Mr. George Dozler*, Mr. Leander Stroschein, Mr. Cyrenus Strochein, Mr. Lawrence Stroschein, Mr. Carl Meyer and Mr. John Meyer.

*Transcription note: I had a hard time determining if the surname was Dozier or Dozler. Confirmation from a descendant would be appreciated.
