The death of Mrs. Martha Beavers Jennings, a former resident of this place, occurred Thursday afternoon at the home of her son, Dr. Glen Beavers at Arlington. Funeral services were held at the Arlington M.E. church Saturday afternoon. Interment took place in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mrs. Martha Beavers Jennings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cook, was born March 24, 1851, at Jo Davis, Ill. In 1870 she was married to Robert Lyman Beavers. Mr. and Mrs. Beavers resided on a farm northwest of town for a number of years.

Five children blessed this union. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death, also Mr. Beavers, who died Dec. 6, 1896.

She was united in marriage to Rev. Jennings, of Volga, who preceded her in death a few years ago.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Glen Beavers of Arlington, and Hiram Beavers of Fayette, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends.
