-Despite the inclement weather on Monday a large concourse of friends attended Mrs. Galer's funeral. In her death we lose a noble woman and a good neighbor. We deeply sympathize with the family in their bereavement.

-Miss Olive Galer has given up her school since her mother's death.

-Two brothers of Mrs. John Galer, Horatio and Prentice Gifford, arrived here from Littleport, Iowa, last week. They thought to reach here in time to attend the funeral. After visiting here a few days they will return by way of Morrill, where they will spend a few days with Mr. Nate Lee.

H.L. and P.P. Gifford returned last week from Kan., where they were called by the death of their sister, Esther Galer, wife of John Galer, of Osborn Co., Kan.

Her death occurred on the 17th of Dec., 1898, quite suddenly from neuralgia of the stomach. She had been to town doing trading and while on the road home was taken with an attack and fell from the buggy in which she was riding and expired in a few minutes.

She was 49 years old and leaves a husband and eight children to mourn her sudden demise. She was born and raised here and was well and favorably known by all in this vicinity. She had long been an earnest and consistent member of the M.E. church and was honored and respected by all, and wil be greatly missed in the neighborhood in which she resided.

--

Note: Burial was first made in Pleasant Plain cemetery and reinterred at the Osborne cemetery in the late 1920s. Refer to the obit of her husband John for more information about her family.
