Paulina Cords, 89, Died Tuesday, Funeral Friday

Miss Paulina Cords, 89, died Tuesday morning at the home of Henry Cords in Cox Creek township following a long illness.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Witt funeral chapel. She is survived only by nephews and nieces.

PAULINA CORDS

Funeral services for Paulina Cords, 89, were held from the Witt funeral chapel at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery. Death was due to the infirmities of old age.

Paulina Cords, daughter of Charles and Hannah Cords, was born Jan. 26, 1861, on a farm in Cox Creek township, where she spent her entire life. She is the last one of her immediate family.

Miss Cords was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers were Charles, William, Henry, Leroy and Irving Cords and Ed Wolf.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Dr. Charles Cords, Rudd; Mr. and Mrs. William Cords and Lucille, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Cords, Mary, Sandra, and Dennis, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wolf, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Quill Cords and daughter Carolyn, Miss Pearl Cords and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dahlstrom, all of McGregor.

We wish to express our appreciation for the many acts of kindness and sympathy shown us during the illness and death of our beloved aunt.
