Everson, Lars died 1870

A Norwegian by the name of Lars Everson, residing in Marion Township was coming from McGregor last Thursday with a load of lumber. The night before he had driven all night, and on returning was probably sleepy, said had given his horses a loose rein. They must have become frightened and run off, for he was evidently thrown off the wagon and one of the wheels passed over his neck, killing him instantly. He was found shortly after, with body still warm, but the life extinct. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his untimely death.
