Elkader Register, Thur. 01 Sept. 1921.
Mrs. Guttorm Gregerson passed away Sunday August 21st at her home in Marion Township, aged eighty-nine years, one month and twenty-eight days. Mrs. Gregerson had been in failing health for some time.
Christine Ellingson was born in Norway June 23rd, 1839, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elling Ellingson, and came to this country in 1869 to meet and marry Guttorm Gregerson whom had come here one year earlier. They were married at Clermont, June 6th, 1869 and soon started housekeeping on the farm in Marion township that has since been her home.
As the years passed seven children came to bless her home and in them, her home life, her church and the friendship of neighbors her life was centered. She early united with the Gunder church but transferred to the Highland Lutheran church at the time of the organization.
Mrs. Gregerson is survived by three sons, Emil of Badger, Minn., H. F. of Drayton, N. Dakota, and Chris, who lives on the old home farm. Seventeen grandchildren also live to perpetuate her memory. Her husband, two sons and two daughters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 24th at the Highland Lutheran church and were largely attended. Rev. Ole Glesne of Decorah conducted a most impressive service and interment was made in the Highland Lutheran cemetery. The two sons living away were unable to be present.
