Elkader Register, Fri., 08 May 1896. McGregor column.
Mr. John Lyons, aged about 70, died at his home on Ash Avenue Friday last. The funeral was held at St. Mary's church Sunday.
He leaves a wife and six children, all at home but John and Tom who are telegraph operators in Chicago, and a daughter, Mrs. J. K. Molumby, of Elkader. The children were all at home to attend the last sad rites.
Mr. Lyons has been a resident of McGregor over thirty years and was always respected as an upright, industrious man. We extend our sympathy to those who mourn.
