Dechow, Fred died 1896

Guttenberg, Io., March 30, 1896 – Mr. Fred Dechow, of this place, disappeared from home on January 1, 1896, and was never heard from again.

Last Wednesday forenoon two fisherman found the body of a man on a sandbar, two miles south of the Turkey run. The wife of Dechow identified the body as that of her husband. The verdict of the coroner’s jury was that Fred Dechow met his death by drowning. He was buried Thursday, March 26.
