Thov Thovson (Kjosa) passed away at his home in Farmersburg, Iowa, February 5, 1926 at 8 p.m., at the age of eighty-two years, eleven months and eleven days.

He was born in Opdal, Hummedal, Norway, February 24, 1843. At the age of twenty-six, he left his native country and came to America and established his home in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa, where he purchased a farm and continued his activities as a successful farmer until two years ago, at which time he rented his farm and moved to Farmersburg.

He was united in marriage with Gunnill Gullekson*, December 12, 1872. To this union was born five children, Thov, Ole, Lena, Gilbert and Theodor. Gilbert is the only one of the five children to survive his father and he always remained at home to care for his aged parents. Thove died at his home in Marion township in the year 1921. Ole died at his home in Valley City, North Dakota in the year 1923. Lena died at home on the farm in Wagner township in the year 1902 and Theodore died in infancy. He is also survived by two brothers, Halvor of Wagner township and Kundt of Norway. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him.

Thov Thovson was a good neighbor, he was always ready and willing to extend a helping hand to a neighbor when in need of help. He was a hard worker and kept it up until two years ago when his health and strength gradually failed. He was confined to the bed since January 4, 1926.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon. Mrs. Ole Thovson from Valley City, North Dakota, was the only relative present at the funeral from a far distance. He was laid to rest in the Norway church cemetery, Rev. Tysdal officiating.
