A shoemaker by the name of John Boehner, 19 years of age, was drowned in the Turkey River at Motor on the 12th of July, 1869.
He was watering a horse, and getting into a deep hole, became entangled and was thrown from the horse into the water, from which he did not rise again alive.
The young man was the only stay and support of an aged mother and two little children.
We learn these particulars from Mr. Louis Schroder, who informs us that he intends to circulate a subscription paper to aid the unfortunate woman, and it is hoped that ever one to whom the paper is presented will give as liberally as his means will permit.
