Died at Colesburg, Iowa, January 22nd, 1868, after an illness of six weeks of hemorrhage of the Lungs, J. A. Smith – aged 29 years.
Dr. Tobie sends us the above sad news. It is sad indeed, to chronicle the death of so estimable a young man as Mr. Smith – just stepping into the prime of life, and just beginning to surround himself with the comforts and conveniences that a prosperous business yields a man.
His many friends in this county where he resided a long time (at Garnavillo) as well as at Colesburg will deeply mourn his loss. To his bereaved family and friends we extend our most earnest sympathy.
