Died in Elkader, February 13th, 1864, Kate Boardman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burl Knapp.

Take early from this world, she knew none of life’s troubles.

Clayton County Journal: February 25, 1864

Note: the 1860 census, Boardman twp. enumerates Burl Knapp and his wife Friendly. Two daughters, Emilie (4y) and Estella (2y)
