Died, at the residence of her parents in Clayton, on Thursday, November 8th, 1860, Miss Angeline F. Adams, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Adams, aged nineteen years, three months and eight days.
Gone! Gone! From this world sad forever,
To dwell in the regions above,
With the golden-harped choir of celestials,
To sing of that heavenly love.
She is gone, but her voice like an echo
Is whispering softly around,
Like the sigh of the sweet summer zephyr,
Weep not, for a rest I have found.
Weep not, ‘tis the will of kind Heaven
To take from us those we love best,
To call them above in his kingdom,
From earth’s dreary cares to His rest.
Weep not tho’ her eye’s gentle luster,
Shall beam on us never again,
Tho’ her voice full of joy or of gladness,
Is hushed, yet why should we complain.
