SCHROEDER RITES HELD
_______Calvin Schroeder Is Taken by Death Thursday
_______Funeral services were held on Sunday from the Tuecke funeral home for Calvin Schroeder, 73, who died last Thursday morning at his home here. The services were conducted by Rev. Richard Kauppenin, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church at Garber.
Burial was in the Guttenberg City cemetery with Herman Schroeder, Carl Zearley, Harley Straus, Robert Aulwes, Ronnie Schroeder and James Zearley, Jr., as pallbearers.
Born in Guttenberg April 4, 1884, Mr. Schroeder was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schroeder. On August 30, 1905, he married Mary Schorg in Guttenberg and the couple made their home on a farm.
Surviving Mr. Schroeder are Mrs. Schroeder, two sons and three daughters, Mrs. James Zearley of Garber, Clarence Schroeder of Garber, Mrs. Irene Aulwes of Guttenberg, Mrs. William Straus of Edgewood and Lavern Schroeder of Edgewood. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Frank Schorg of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Ella Kann of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as twenty grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
