LIFE-LONG RESIDENT OF THIS COMMUNITY PASSED AWAY AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Mrs. Mary Ruthop, nee Mary Wehrkamp, a life-long resident of this community passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. C. Miller, Tuesday afternoon, March 10, after a few week’s illness, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 4 days.

Mrs. Ruthop was born August 6, 1854, on a farm in Jefferson township. She was united in marriage to John Ruthop on November 8, 1872. Mr. Ruthop preceded her in death in 1925.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Rev. James Sopko officiating. Burial was made in the City Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, George, of Omaha, Nebraska; and three daughters, Mrs. G. C. Miller and Mrs. Charles E. Scholz, both of Guttenberg; and Mrs. Thomas L. Harvey, of Jordon, Montana; six grand children and two great grand children; and two brothers, Louis and Emil, Hartford[,] South Dakota.
