Melick, J.H. died 1855

We announce with sincere regret, the death of Mr. J.H. Melick, of Clayton, Thursday of last week, October 11th, 1855.

Mr. M was about finishing a large and handsome brick house and store, when attacked by the disease which ended his earthly career.

His remains were brought to this place for interment, and he was buried with the ceremonies of the Order by the members of Garnavillo Lodge, No. 29, I.O.O.F. The relatives of Mr. M. have our warmest sympathies in their bereavement.
