Died at Lodomillo, Clayton county, on Monday the 11th of April, 1853, Mrs. Martha Blanchar, consort of Charles Blanchar.
The death has marked with ruthless hand,
Thy consort – Martha dear-
She’s left you for a brighter land,
Where peace her soul will cheer.
Then why shouldmourning pierce thy heart?
She dwells in Paradise,
Where happy scenes can ne’er depart,
But higher, higher, rise.
Then, feeling sisters, mourn no more,
Thy sister is at rest;
She’s wafted to that blissful shore,
And dwells among the blessed.
Then, orphan daughters, mourn no more,Thy mother’s free from pain-
She did the living God adore-
Now dwells where pleasure reign.
Charles R. Griffing.
