Died on Sunday evening, the 10th of April, Stella Virginia, daughter of Alvah O. and Maria A. Rogers, aged 3 years, 9 months and 3 days.
She dies, young Stella dies,
In beauty’s early bloom,
The bud of beauty lies
Now moldering in the tomb.
She sleeps, sweet Stella sleeps,
In her cold and quiet bed;
Each parent sadly weeps
For the loved one early dead.
She lives, yes, Stella lives,
Her spirit cannot die;
It dwells in everlasting bliss-
In Immortality.
Why o’er the casket weep?
The gem has pass’d away,
The dust-O, let it sleep
Till resurrection day!
