Robert O. Drips

Died at his residence in Garnavillo, on the 25th of August, of Typhoid Fever, Robert O. Drips, aged 31 years, 7 days.

He was a pious man, a good citizen, an affectionate son and brother, and a loving husband and father. His family, the church, the Order of which he was a faithful member and community deeply mourn his loss. His Christian faith sustained him in the hour of death, and he sank peacefully to rest (as we hope) in the arms of his Redeemer.

His remains were borne to the grave by the members of Garnavillo lodge, I.O.O.F., and buried with the ceremonies of the order, and a very large concourse of people followed the corpse of one whom they loved and lament.
