Colesburg, Ia., Dec. 31 - Mrs. Charles Brown died Monday at the family home north of town, following a long period of invalidism from rheumatism.

Her maiden name was Miss Sula Hatfield, and her entire lifetime was spent in Clayton county, Iowa.

Surviving are the husband, three daughters, three sons, nine grandchildren and one brother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday conducted by Rev. W.H. Gott, and interment was made at the Brown cemetery.

FAIRVIEW: Sula Rachel Hatfield Brown, the youngest daughter of Hiram and Rachel Hatfield, was born in Clayton County, Iowa, on Nov. 12, 1864, and died Monday morning, Dec. 29th, 1930, at the age of 66 years and 17 days.

During her childhood she attended the public school in the neighborhood and later the United Brethren Sunday school and church here at Fairview. She was baptized by the Rev. Hollingshead about four years ago. On Nov. 20, 1885, she was married to Charles Brown. Six children were born to this union, all of whom survive; Mrs. Linnie Harbaugh of Manchester, Earl Brown of Garber, Mrs. Ruth Hafner of Elkport and Wayne, Emmet and Mae at home.

For a number of years Mrs. Brown has been practically an invalid. However, she has been a very patient sufferer and always considerate of others. She was a good, kind mother, always interested in the welfare of her husband and children.

Three half-brothers, James, John and Aaron Sangston and two sisters preceded her in death a number of years ago and one brother, Louis Hatfield of North Dakota, about three months ago.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, the above mentioned six children, one brother, Jacob Hatfield of Freedom, Okla., nine grandchildren and a number of other relatives and a host of fiends.

Funeral services were held in the Fairview United Brethren church by the Rev. Geo. C. Nordurft of Colesburg, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Gott. Interment was made in the Brown cemetery, north of Colesburg. The pallbearers were: Elmer Brown, Dick Brown, Ben Brown, Russel Brown, Gordon Walters and Frank Bush.
