Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Evangelical church in Garnavillo Friday afternoon for Alto Theodore, 56 who died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 28th at the Oakdale Sanitarium in Oakdale. Mr. Theodore had been ill for about two years with pulmonary tuberculosis.
Alto Otto Theodore was born April 17, 1909 in Clayton township. He was educated in a rural school and worked at farming and other jobs in Clayton and vicinity until he was hospitalized two years ago. He was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church in Garnavillo.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Arno Stickfort of Clayton and Mrs. Elmer Mueller of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and one brother, William Theodore of Clayton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Services were conducted by the Rev. L.C. Urlaub and interment was at the Garnavillo cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Schroeder, Arlyn Hempeler, Earl Stickfort, Verni Blume, Verdis Schlake and Virgil Niehaus.
