In the home of David Shellito, in Read township, on January 3, 1884, occurred the death of A. P. Eno, aged 82 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Deceased was born in Hartford county, Connecticut, and removed to Stanstead county, Canada, some sixty years ago, where he resided until the spring of 1854, when he came to Iowa, and purchased land in Wagner township, on which he resided until the fall of 1880, since which time he has resided with his son, W. P. Eno, and his son-in-law, David Shellito.
His aged wife died February 2nd, 1883, and since that time he has been gradually failing, seemingly anxious to join her in that haven of rest.
Father Eno, as he was familiarly known, raised a family of seven children, six of whom survive him.. The funeral took place from the house of W.P. Eno, in Wagner township on Sunday last.
