Postville, Ia. – Services for Mrs. Amelia Meier, 90, who did Sunday at her home after a short illness, were scheduled for Wednesday from the Schutte Funeral Home to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor, officiating, and burial in the Postville Cemetery.

She was born in 1859 in Garnavillo, Ia., the daughter of Jacob and Christina (Brooker) Splies. She married Charles Meier and the couple engaged in farming in this area until they retired and came to Postville.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Orma Schultz, Mrs. Edward (Vinah) Poesch; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, parents and a son.
