Wednesday morning last, Sept. 30, at about four o'clock occurred the death of Christ McCue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McCue of this township.
Until Tuesday morning he had enjoyed his usual health, and had attended to his labors on the farm with his father, but early on the morning of that day he was taken suddenly ill with internal hemorrhage and bowel difficulty, and everything that medical skill could do was done, but to no purpose.
Christ McCue was a young man 21 years of age and a favorite with all who knew him. He was steady and unassuming, thoroughly industrious and perservering, and his loss falls heavily on his parents, who are well advanced in years.
The family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. The funeral was held Friday morning, the 3rd inst. and as largely attended, there being nearly sixty teams in the procession with followed his earthly remains to the Catholic church where services were held by Father Reilly, the interment taking place in the Catholic cemetery.
Thus another bright life is called from among us to be known no more except in memory until the Great Awakening.
