Died at his home near Ceres on April 17, 1896, John Herman Wehrkamp at the age of 26 years 9 months and 14 days.

Deceased was born in Jefferson township, July 3, 1869. He was confirmed at St. Paul’s church Garnavillo, by Rev. Sommerlad, March 25, 1883.

Besides his aged parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers survive him. His remains are buried at the Ceres cemetery on Sunday afternoon. Rev. Gammelin officiating.
