Strawberry Point- Funeral services for Joseph Chappell, 69, who died at his home here Monday after a long illness, were held today. Burial was in St. Sebald Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 10, 1879, at North Leverton, England, and made his home here for 48 years. On Oct. 14, 1909, he married Louise Drucker and they farmed in this community until retiring here five years ago.
He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Harvey and Mrs. Elwin Sargen, all of Strawberry Point; three sons, Glenn, Edgewood, Joseph E., Waterloo, and George, Littleport; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Smith, Deroche, B.C., Canada, Mae Chappell and Annie Chappell, Retford, England; two brothers, Herbert and Arthur Chappell, Los Angeles, Calif., and 10 grandchildren.
