MRS. SCHWEIKERT PASSES ON SUNDAY
Mrs. Mary Schweikert, 64, passed away Sunday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bigler, in Grand Meadow township, where she had been living for some time past. She had been in ill health for the last few months.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Bigler home and at two o'clock in St. Paul's Lutheran church, with the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig officiating. Interment will be in Postville cemetery.
Mrs. Schweikert was born at Elkport, Clayton county, June 6, 1883, as the daughter of Frank and Mary Schroeder Kafer. She was married to Arthur P. Schweikert of Garber on April 10, 1901, and to this union three children were born, all of whom survive.
Mrs. Schweikert lived for the greater portion of her life in Clayton county. For several years the family home was in Postville and later she spent five years with her daughter and family in Salem, Ore. Since returning here, she has been living at the Bigler home.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Mrs. Bigler, Muriel, of Postville; Mrs. Melvin Benson, Carmen, of Salem, Ore., and Arthur Schweikert of Sheridan, Ore.; also seven grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters and one brother.
