Elkader- John E. Poull, 90, of Grants Pass, Ore., formerly of Elkader, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Highland House Nursing Home, Grants Pass, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Paul Peters. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services Friday at the church. Arrangements are with Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy.

John Edwin “Eddie” Poull, 90, formerly of Elkader, IA, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at the Highland House Nursing Home, Grants Pass, OR. Eddie was born on November 29, 1915, in Elkader, to Michael J. and Mary Ellen (Houlihan) Poull. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School and Elkader Junior College.

Eddie was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Starr on June 5, 1939, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elkader. They were married for sixty-seven years. Eddie worked for the U.S. Navy Yard in Portsmouth, VA, Gulf Oil General Atomic Facility in San Diego, CA, and Rohr Corporation in Chula Vista, CA.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Poull of Grants Pass, OR, and nieces and nephews.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Vincent, Gerald and Joseph Poull.
