Farmersburg- Ardee LeHew Fascher, 95, died Thursday morning, Jan. 13, 2005, in the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, by the Rev. Bruce Hanson. Burial: Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, rural Farmersburg. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
She was born Nov. 24, 1909, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Orley and Rachel LeHew. She was educated in the Clayton County schools and graduated from McGregor High School in 1929. She taught six years in the Swede Ridge area of Clayton County.
Ardee married Otto F. Fascher on June 4, 1935. He preceded her in death in January 1988. They farmed in the Farmersburg area for more than 50 years.
Ardee had been an active contributing member of St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, since 1935, teaching children through adult Sunday school class, and was active in Luther League and all aspects of the church.
Survivors include a sister, Ethel Atkinson of Fortville, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Noble, Sidney, Lloyd, Robert and Ralph "Pat" LeHew; and four sisters, Lorraine and Thea in infancy and Almeda Boardman and Harriet Merten.
