On last Saturday evening at the home of his son-in-law, Henry Judy, occurred the death of Levy Doty in the 79th year of his age.
Mr. Doty was one of the early settlers of Clayton county, locating upon a farm in Highland township, where he lived until some two years ago when he came with his wife and daughter (Mrs. Judy) to Elkader to spend their last days. His wife died soon after coming to town.
Mr. Doty was one of God's noblemen and died surrounded by a multitude of friends.
The funeral occurred on Monday conducted by Rev. Mr. Moore, and the remains were laid to rest by the side of his life companion, there to await the future destiny of the human family.
