Guttenberg- Arthur "Art" John Wolter, 99, died Sunday in Manor Care Nursing Center, Dubuque, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, where a wake service begins at 8.

Surviving is a daughter, Rita Jaeger of Dubuque.

Arthur "Art" John Wolter, 99, of Dubuque, formerly of Guttenberg, died Sunday evening, Dec. 13, 1992 at Manor Care Nursing Center in Dubuque.

Services for Mr. Wolter were scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Guttenberg, to be conducted by Father Paul Peters.

Visitation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home where the scripture wake service was held Tuesday evening.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with the following pallbearers: James Jaeger, Steve Jaeger, Dennis Wolter, David Wolter, John Wolter and Dale Wels.

Arthur John Wolter was born June 5, 1893 in Guttenberg, a son of John and Mary (Walz) Wolter. He was married Feb. 18, 1919 at St. Mary's to Loretta Eilers, who died June 8, 1957. Mr. Wolter and (had) operated A. J. Wolter Grocery in the south end of Guttenberg before his retirement.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Rita) Jaeger of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild (great-great-grandchild); and two daughters-in-law, Ann Wolter of Guttenberg and Edna Wolter of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Richard and Gerald and two sisters, Cecelia Schlueter and Elizabeth Berns.
