Elwin E. Gorkow of Walford died Saturday at a Cedar Rapids hospital following a sudden illness.
The owner of the Walford Garage for 14 years, he was born March 6, 1901, in Littleport. On July 22, 1945, he married the former Edna Hartbeck in Lancaster, Wis.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Wendy, at home; Mrs. Raymond (Thelma) Duball/Duhall, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Paul (Marian) Hartke, Hollandale, Minn.; two sons, Charles, Manchester, and William, Lisbon; thirteen grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. John Waterbury, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ray Mehaffey, Dubuque; Mrs. Howard Jensen, Lancaster, Wis.; Mrs. Sylvester Tayek, Marquette and Mrs. Wesley Lang, Monona; a brother, Carl, Lancaster, Wis.; and a half-brother, Leo Robison, Edgewood.
Services are pending at Turner Chapel West. Friends may call at the chapel after 2 p.m. today.
(NOTE: Burial in Mederville Cemetery. The surname Duball could also be Duhall.)
