Strawberry Point- Charles William Hakert, 74, retired farmer, died Monday at his home of a heart ailment. He formerly was Cox Creek Township trustee and since November, 1957, had been Cass Township trustee.

Surviving are his widow, Alma, Strawberry Point; a daughter, Mrs. William Freitag, and a son, George, both of Elkader.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Gill Funeral Home, with burial at the Mederville Cemetery.
