Clayton County Register, 11 Mar. 1936.
MONONA: Funeral services for Albert F. Lestina, aged 55, were held Saturday morning at ten o'clock from the St. Patrick's Catholic church. The Rev. Father Luke Donlon sang the requiem high mass. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Lestina had been ill for only a few days, although his health had not been up to par, and on Sunday afternoon he went to Rochester, Minn., for medical aid. However, he was not strong enough to go through the clinic and died of heart trouble on Wednesday night. His faithful wife was with him and also the younger daughter, Alberta.
Surviving M. Lestina are the widow, Mrs. Barbara Lestina, one son, Benjamin A. Lestina, and two daughters, Mrs. Rita Hartong, of near Church, Iowa, and Alberta Mae, at home; also his aged father, Albert Lestina, Sr.; three sisters, Mrs. John Moses and Mrs. Albert Moses of Monona, and Mrs. Fran Samek of Postville; and one brother, Frank A. Lestina; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Lestina was an honest man, a good neighbor and a kind friend, a loving father, and a true husband to his wife. They lived for a number of years on the farm now occupied by their son, Ben and family, and at the time of the son's marriage moved to Monona where he assisted in the Carl G. Schultz furniture store as his health would permit. His many friends will miss "Sullivan" by which he was even better known than by his own name.
