Luana- LaVonne Walter, 81, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, in Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, by Father John Moran. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, where there will be a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. and rosary at 8 p.m.

Survivors include a son, Edward of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Deborah Johanningmeier of McGregor; and two brothers, Eugene Schmelzer of McGregor and Gerald Schmelzer of Indian Hills, Calif.
