On Wednesday of last week occurred the death of Levi Springer, an old gentleman who lived a mile and a half north of town. He has been ill for a long time and not expected to recover. None of his family survive him except two foster children who reside in Montana.

-- --

Levi Springer died last week at his home near Jefferson, after a lingering illness with paralysis. He was about eighty years of age, and leaves no near relatives. The funeral services were held Friday.

Mrs. J.F. McMonigal, of Greeley, was in this vicinity last week to attend the funeral services of her uncle, the late Levi Springer.

~Note: DOD would have been 05/25/1904. Burial place is unknown - likely near Jefferson (Graham). He served during the Mexican War and was a very early settler in Clayton county.
