Filinda Maria Adney was born at Vinton, Ohio, February 17th, 1836, the daughter of Wm. Adney and Ruth Higley Adney. She died Nov. 28th, 1922 at the home of her son Frank.

She was married to A. J. McMillin at Vinton, Ohio, October 29th, 1852.

Eight children were born to this union: Louisa (Mrs. Sweet); Maria (Mrs. Barker), Henrietta, who died in 1881; Franklin, Sherman and George of McGregor; Harvey of Belle Plaine; one child died in infancy. Her husband passed away March 23, 1907. **

Her sister Mrs. C.E. St. John is also left to mourn. Mrs.McMillin has been a great suffererer, but patiently bore her lot.The funeral was held Thursday, Rev. A. M. S. Stook officiating, with burial at National Cemetery.

**NOTE: The actual year that Andrew J. McMillin died was 1910, as proven by his death certificate and cemetery records.
