'MRS. ADNEY AND SON ARE DEAD - Austin Passes Away on day of his Mother's funeral'

Two deaths in the same family occurred in the last week; Austin Adney succumbing to a fractured skull on the day his mother was laid to rest. Mrs. Adney's funeral was at the Methodist church Wednesday and Austin will be buried tomorrow. Sarah Ann Oxberger was born in Ohio on August 4, 1843 and died at McGregor March 29, 1931 at the age of 87 years, 7 mos., 25 days. (note: Age conflicts with official death record by one year.) She was united in marriage to John T. Adney August 3, 1864. He preceded her in death 9 years ago.

She leaves to mourn her loss eight children; Susan Brown, Lucy Schaeffer, Austin, Alvin, Herman, Alonzo, Jonathan and Arthur Adney, also one brother, Nicholas Oxberger. Six children preceded her in death. Austin's obituary will be printed next week.

Sarah Oxberger Adney, from West McGregor, died on 29 March, 1931 at the age of 88 years, 7 mos., 25 days.
Date of birth: Aug 4, 1842, Vinton, Ohio. Cause of Death: Organic Heart Disease, contributing senile "debility".
Father is Christopher Oxberger, born in Germany. Mother is Susan Sturms, born in Kentucky.
Informant is Al Adney (note: probably son Alvin). Buried Mar 31, 1931, Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
