Monona- Everett E. Klotzbach, 79, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in the V.A. Hospital, Albuquerque, N.M., following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, at a later date.

Survivors include a son, Kery Klotzbach (Deb) and grandson, Joshua, all of 1608 Twinberry Dr., Rio Rancho, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Kay Shaw of Santa Fe, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert C., Willard W. and John, who died in infancy; and an infant granddaughter, Jenna Leigh.

Everett was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Giard, Iowa, the son of Willard C. and Anna Erbe Klotzbach. He resided in Froelich, Iowa, and graduated from Monona High School in 1939. He entered the Army on Oct. 19, 1942. He received his training at Fort Lewis, Wash., and was sent to the South Pacific, where he was wounded in Okinawa and spent 18 months in government hospitals before returning to his parent's home in McGregor. He was the Recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the McGregor Methodist Church. Everett was a mechanic for many years before his retirement. He worked for Huebsch Chevrolet, both in McGregor and Prairie du Chien, Wis., as well as for Halpin Tire Service in Prairie du Chien, Wis.
