Fred Witt, aged over 90 years, passed away at his home in Monona Saturday evening. Deceased was the grandfather of Fred Bruns of this city.

MONONA: Fred Witt, aged 91, died in the Witt home Saturday afternoon, after having been in bed many months.
Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Roy Hunter, of Castalia; one grandson, Donald Witt, of Oelwein, and one granddaughter, Miss Ethel Witt, who teaches in Cedar Rapids. His son-in-law and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bruns, cared for him, and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Cora Witt, assisted, as did also his daughter, Mrs. Hunter. A son, Charles Witt, and a daughter, Mrs. Henry Bruns, and also his wife, preceded him in death.
Mr. Witt was probably Monona's eldest resident. He was born in Germany and came to this country many years ago and knew the hardships of the early pioneers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Lutheran church.
